1. consultation gynecomastia
A gynecomastia consultation takes about 45 minutes. For the consultation it is important that the doctor from our team examines you carefully and there is enough time to answer all existing questions. Since the procedure of gynecomastia, i.e. the removal of a man’s breast, can vary greatly, the exact procedure will be discussed during the consultation.
2nd day of treatment (approx. 2 hrs.)
Conversation again
On the day of the treatment, the doctor will discuss the steps with you one more time.
Twilight sleep
You will be put into a light twilight sleep for the surgery. This means you do not get everything and the treatment is completely painless for you.
Removal of the male breast
In most cases, the fat is suctioned out first. Immediately afterwards, part of the tissue of the mammary gland is then removed. The whole procedure takes about 2h.

Wake-up phase
Immediately after male breast removal, you will be given a pressure dressing to ensure that the mini bites do not become infected and heal well. Since gynecomastia is an outpatient procedure, you can go home as soon as you are rested and 100% awake from twilight sleep.
3. aftercare
Healing is checked after already one week by the doctor who performed the surgery. Further follow-ups for gynecomastia are done after 1 month, 3 months and the last one after 6 months. In the meantime, if you have any further questions, you can always come to the Gentlemen’s Clinic for a follow-up visit.

1. what is gynecomastia and what causes it?
Gynecomastia refers to an enlargement of the mammary gland in men, usually accompanied by additional fat deposits. Such “man boobs” are considered aesthetically unattractive by many sufferers. Gynecomastia occurs in both slim and overweight men, which can lead to a sometimes significant impairment of self-confidence. Typically, neither sports nor diet can change anything about the shape.
The main cause is usually hormonal imbalances. These can be naturally caused, as occurs in many cases during puberty, for example; but breast growth can also be hereditary or caused by chronic diseases. The intake of hormones through diet or medication also affects the male breast.
2. gynecomastia and pseudogynecomastia (lipomastia)
If the growth of the breast is not caused by the enlargement of the glandular tissue, but by severe obesity, i.e. an increase in fatty tissue in the breast area, it is a so-called pseudogynecomastia (lipomastia). This should be distinguished from gynecomastia. For the treatment of lipomastia, the procedure of liposuction is used, which we also offer to our guests. Our doctors can use an ultrasoundand/or blood test to determine what type of breast growth your case is and then initiate the correct treatment.
3. how is gynecomastia treated?
Treatment of gynecomastia is almost always simple and easy. For optimal results, two different procedures must be combined in most cases: In a first step, the excess fat is suctioned off. In a second step, the glandular body is then completely removed by a millimeter puncture in the nipple. The treatment is performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. After the treatment, the skin immediately contracts, which leads to an excellent aesthetic result that lasts for a long time. The procedure is painless, there are no visible scars.
4. what happens after the procedure and what do I have to pay attention to?
The treatment of gynecomastia with few complications permanently eliminates the enlarged breast and gives new self-confidence. Immediately after the procedure, the guest is allowed to go home and return to work the next day. Aftercare consists of a bandage for 24 hours, after which no further measures are necessary. You should avoid sports and strenuous activities during the first week after the procedure. This also applies to direct sunlight. Within four to six weeks the final result of the treatment is visible. Follow-up is recommended after three to six months. Why should you have the procedure with us, read more here.
